I have Lost MY Best Friend My DAD
Today is a sad day in my life, for today I have lost my best friend, My Dad.
This morning between 10-11 am. My Dad the FATHER OF BLUEGRASS DOBRO JOSH GRAVES, Passed away.
Dad had been in the hospital since last Friday.
Tuesday he had another part of the bone removed from his nub which was hurting him pretty much.
He did great on the surgery but on his birthday the 27th of this month (sept) turned 80, things started not looking so good.
Dad had got pneumonia. After all of the surgeries and illness he has had and pulled out of them,
this morning the Lord knew he had had enough and took him home.
I would like to thank all of his friends and fans for the support you have give
him.
He remembered everyone who did things for him.
Although I don't know alot of you I would like to thank you also.
There are so many people I would like to mention but I know I would leave someone out,
so I will just say thanks for all you have done for My Dad.

OPEN LETTER FROM JOSH GRAVES, JR. - MARCH 23, 2006
Josh Graves, Jr. exclusively shared with Bluegrass Music Profiles a
health update on his father, Josh Graves.
"Things around here have been a little hectic but it is getting a lot better now. Dad went back into the hospital again.
He went to Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He had a lot of infection and build up of fluid on one of his amputated nubs
which he just had surgery because the bone was trying to come through the skin causing a lot of discomfort.
The bone was cut back. This last time we were not sure of what would happen since he was weak but the surgery had to be done.
The family agreed to go ahead and do the surgery.
Let me re-phrase that, Dad told us what to do like he always does and he chose to go ahead with the operation.
"I came back to the hospital after he came out of recovery. He looked up at me and said 'I beat them again.'
"If all goes well he will get to come home soon. He is already talking about the dates that are booked and how he wants to do them.
There is no quitting in this man - my Dad. I don't see how he keeps on going but he does.
I hate to complain with a hurt foot or stomach when he has been through as much as he has and hasn't complained at all.
He says the man upstairs is taking care of him."
Your Friend,
Josh Graves, Jr.

JOSH JR. & KENNY BAKER Enjoyed a little touch of heaven yesterday afternoon and
evening.
Some local and regional longtime favorites of the country music scene appeared at the Iron Horse Saloon
together with Kenny Baker, Josh Graves, Jr. and Joe Pointer as the hmmmm (Nashville Trio).
What a pleasure to listen to Kenny Baker. At age 77, he retains the sound of the 'MASTER'.
The sound is gentle as the touch is soft.
We talked a little of Del McCoury ( Kenny suggested to Mr. Bill that he contact Del when he needed a guitar player).
He told me about son John and we talked about a couple of festivals
and a bit about Mr. Bill and a couple of other fiddle players.
I asked him if he still enjoys the appearances and he answered with " It depends on who I'm playing with."
Josh Graves, Jr. is an all around entertainer.
For many years ( 27 plus), he was with the Hendersonville Police
and has been a bodyguard to among others, Reba McIntire, although his stature belies his occupation.
He does the Lester Flatt repetoire with sincerity, tells a good joke and plays rhythm as it should be played.
All around they are well worth a listen. Josh Sr., is doing well as can be expected.
He still retains a sense of humor. Looking for a legend for your venue and an all around entertaining trio,
look up Kenny Baker with Josh Graves, Jr. ~~~ HB
